How to Request Product Demo & Tutorials from Silicon Craftsmen Guild

tl;dr

We are making some changes to the way we create content.

Any project or community member can now request Product Demos or Tutorials by filling out this form. We will be crowdsourcing the requests through active community members across the NEAR ecosystem.

How We Started and What we Learned

We started with a top-down approach — as a Guild, we identified the key areas we thought could use some more material and then set ourselves the task to create the content in-house.

We quickly realised that this was generating a bottleneck. The ecosystem is developing faster than we can keep up. Also, we acknowledge that the community is excellent at generating this kind of content.

Introducing Dynamic Product Demos and Tutorials Model

To address this challenge we’ve taken inspiration from our friends over at Swine Guild and their Meme Request form.

We have created a Product Demo / Tutorial Request form to enable any team, whether Near Core or Projects building on top of NEAR to submit requests for supporting content.

The form allows us to start a conversation and get a better understanding of the current stage of development of the project, what the team would like to achieve from the specific piece of content and who the target users are.

By working on tailored content requests from teams and projects, and distributing these across the requesting team’s channels as well as SCs, we believe we can create a solid network effect.

Crowdsourced Content

The Second Component of the Request Model is the Crowdsourced Model.

As we receive requests, we are going to implement an open ticket system where our Guild Members can see the tasks requested and volunteer to generate the content.

There is a strong focus on reducing duplication of efforts across the ecosystem and fostering more collaboration with other guilds. We acknowledge community contributors are often part of several guilds.

An example of this would be to promote the Product Demo requests through OWS and Degens.
